Freedom Tower NYC
The Freedom Tower is the main building in the reconstruction of the World Trade Center. It is going to be a symmetrical single tower that will rise 1,776 feet to the top of the spire. Construction has began and will be completed sometime in 2012. http://www.nyc-tower.com/
Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge
The Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge is a bridge construction project about 1,600 feet south of the Hoover Dam. It is being constructed due to the fact that congestion has built up across the Hoover Dam, and highways leading to the Dam have become trade routes. These trade routes constitute more traffic and the bridge would alleviate this and create a safer route across the river. This information was obtained from http://www.hooverdambypass.org/purpose_overview.htm
Las Vegas City Center
City Center is a huge construction project currently on-going in Las Vegas, NV. It is located on the Las Vegas Strip, and will include a casino hotel, high and low rise residences, retail shopping outlets, and is attempting to get LEED certification, which means it will be environmentally sustainable. Initial construction is planned for completion later this year with total completion by 2010. The website is http://www.citycenter.com/
Turner City
One of my favorite construction websites is Turner City. Turner City is an imaginary city that combines all of Turner Construction's projects into one complete city. It has residences, offices, high-rises, low rises, parks, hospitals, schools, almost anything you could think of in a city. The link is http://www.turnerconstruction.com/turnercity/ and here are some pictures:
